Why CDN is needed WordPress |
Many are calling that by using the CDN then loading the website will be faster, some say again if using it will make WordPress blog getting slower. These 2 versions may confuse us. Rather than argue I try to explain what CDN is & is it necessary for WordPress blog? Here's an explanation you should know.
WHAT IS THE CDN?
CDN is the abbreviation of Content delivery networks is a network of servers that provide static content cache from the site to users based on the geographical location of the user. So an explanation of this we can accept, that the CDN function can be one alternative to use speed up loading WordPress blog. Maybe this is not so clear, here's a simple understanding.
Usually when users come to your WordPress hosting blog, they are redirected to a web host server. Your host web server is in a location for example in Jakarta. So every user on your website accesses this one server to view your website. Now if you have a high volume of traffic, then indirectly can burden the server that leads to the site eventually the site will be slow or even server crash will occur.
This is where the role of CDN is useful for network server hosting. When you use CDN, static cache content is stored on all servers. Static content includes images, stylesheets (CSS files), javascript, Flash, etc. When the user visits the site (the original server), CDN technology directs them to the server closest to their location.
For example: If you are using a hosting server in Indonesia than there are users accessing from America, then they will be redirected to the nearest server that may be in America. So the role of CDN is very helpful WordPress blog so that no problem when the user accesses your site. By deploying your content across multiple servers geographically, you've created pages loaded faster from perspective. This is if you use CDN. In simple words, the closer the CDN server to the user, the faster the user gets the content. This is a simple explanation of content delivery networks.
WHY WE NEED A CDN
If you have read the above article, it can draw a clear conclusion that having a CDN can make a big impact on the website & here are some advantages when we use CDN:
- Speed - By using CDN for WordPress service now the site will load faster.
- Accident Resistance - content delivery networks allow us to distribute the load to multiple servers from 100% traffic to the main server so that it makes it likely to crash.
- Improved User Experience - With the latest technology, content delivery networks can certainly improve the user experience. Bounce rate will be small.
- Improved SEO - Google has said that faster sites tend to rank higher in Search Engines.
That is the explanation of what the CDN is & what benefits it will receive from using it. The important point of this article itself is to speed up loading sites in addition to using a caching plugin or unlimited hosting, if you have any questions or criticisms and suggestions, give the comments below, hopefully useful, thanks.
